Skyewater Photo + Film is a photo + video team specializing in elopements and small weddings in Seattle and the PNW. Our style is vibrant, colorful, and artsy. We help you dream outside the norm, giving you the permission to say “no” to inauthentic trends or traditions. We invite you to be fully present, unapologetically yourselves, and care-free on your wedding day instead of worrying about what everyone else wants. You have our full support, every step of the way.
Why do we care about Sustainability
Sustainability allows everyone to be healthier, happier, and more connected with our communities, nature, and the world we live in. It’s one of our core values as a brand, because we believe where you choose to get married matters, and you should be able to enjoy those same places for years to come.

Other Sustainable Practices
All of our planning calls, invoices, contracts and more are done online. We purchase used/refurbished gear whenever possible. We love carpooling to limit our emissions when traveling for work.
Following LNT principles, educating couples on LNT, I have an LNT clause in my contracts for couples eloping/photographing in the outdoors, and we prioritize going on less busy days to reduce the impact when there are other busy days on trails. We do not publish the names of trails we're on publicly online. We prioritize working in local/regional areas over locations that require long drive/flights to get to.
Imperfectly Sustainable
Skyewater Photo + Film says: "Moving forward, I'm working on traveling less often, and on streamlining work so that I'm driving/flying less (such as working a few elopements in a National Park within one-two weeks instead of several times a year), and still need to figure out how to get rid of old electronic items like old hard drives and SD cards that don't work."

When Kaitlyn advertises she specializes in an elopement style wedding photography and videography, you need to understand that she is willing to go the distance to ensure your special day will be captured in the best way possible. Leading up to our wedding, Kaitlyn was incredibly organized and attentive to any and all questions that we had. She helped us develop a plan for when and where to take photos, and the order with whom to get photos with. This was extremely valuable because it ultimately helped us generate a schedule and rid the stress of possibly missing something that we wanted to capture.
